International Master of Cardiology and Techniques Applied to Cardiac Surgery (II edizione) – a.a. 22/23


 

The programme leads to a joint degree with Milano Bicocca University and is organized in collaboration with IHS International Heart School 

 

The course provides insights on the techniques used in adult and paediatric cardiology, cardiac surgery, and cardio anaesthesia. The course also shed light on the international cooperation available thanks to the spread of modern technologies, such as continuing distance learning. The course especially caters to doctors who work in countries where there is limited knowledge on the advanced cardiac surgery techniques.

MASTER STRUCTURE:

Duration: 1 year equal to 1.500 hours, divided as follows:

  • Lectures: 360 h
    •      Lessons of frontal teaching: 280 h
    •      Distance education (FAD): 80 h
  • Individual workload: 765 h
  • Internship: 300 h
  • Master thesis: 75 h

UNIVERSITY CREDITS: 60

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The course provides insights on the techniques used in adult and paediatric cardiology, cardiac surgery, and cardio anaesthesia. The course also shed light on the international cooperation available thanks to the spread of modern technologies, such as continuing distance learning. The course especially caters to doctors who work in countries where there is limited knowledge on the advanced cardiac surgery techniques. The main goal is to provide high level education and training to face complex cardiovascular cases and to work into an equip of experts in the field.

CARRIER OPPORTUNITIES
The course is addressed to cardiologists, cardio-anaesthetists, and cardiac surgeons, operating in both the paediatric and adult field, who would like to deepen their knowledge on complex cases treatments. The course increases the doctor’s ability to understand and to produce scientific contributions in the context of cardiovascular diseases, requirements needed for international research and collaboration projects.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Master degree LM-31 in Medicine and Surgery (Decreto Ministeriale n. 270 del 2004) or equivalent.

Pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of congenital heart disease – 36 h – 4.5 ECTF
Acute and chronic heart failure and heart transplant – 24 h – 3.0 ECTF
Genetics in heart disease – 24 h – 3.0 ECTF
Management of paediatric and adult patients in intensive care – 48 h – 6.0 ECTF
Thoracic cardiac surgery – 64 h – 8.0 ECTF
Paediatric cardiac surgery – 64 h – 8.0 ECTF
Clinical research and technology assessment – 40 h – 5.0 ECTF
Imaging and VR Technologies technologies for cardiac surgery – 24 h – 3 ECTF
